We are currently the only company in Europe that can offer this unique service! We have 2 training simulators, both level D machines and both used daily to undertake line training, type ratings and LPC / OPC tasks. One is an Airbus A320, the other a Boeing 737 800, both are based at Burgess hill. The conditions around us being allowed to hire these simulators solo to the general public is fairly stringent and outlined in detail below.
These machines cost upwards of £10-15 million pounds each so as you would expect we have some fairly robust entry criteria. You would be operating these machines under the Virtual Aerospace contract so we must be 100% confident that you are fully capable of operating the aircraft, simulator and instructor operating system. We have divided the criteria into 4 groups.
Hold a Current Boeing or lapsed 737 Type Rating.
Send us a photocopy of your pilots licence and a photocopy of the last 737 flight within your log book.
You must be prepared to undertake approx. 30 minute Instructor Operating System I.O.S. and simulator safety training prior to your session.
Hold a Current or lapsed turbine or jet type rating.
Send us a photocopy of your pilots licence and a photocopy of the last flight within your log book.
Complete approx. 2 hours simulator training with an instructor in our full motion 737 800 (£899) you will then be signed off to carry our self hire
Approx. 30 minute Instructor Operating System I.O.S. and simulator safety training prior to your session
Hold a Current or lapsed CPL / IR
Send us a photocopy of your pilots licence.
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of basic Boeing operation (start / shutdown / primary controls / basic systems functionality)
Note: To operate a full motion Boeing simulator you will need to have an excellent knowledge of the aircraft’s systems and jet differences, whilst we do not put you through a type rating, this training program is a cut down version of one and will require you to undertake some home study (supplied by us) and then undertake significant fixed base and full motion flight simulator training program, however once qualified you will join a very very small group of pilots able to operate this fantastic machine.
Hold a current or lapsed PPL
Send us a photocopy of your pilots licence and last page of log book.
Undertake 10 hours of fixed base training (£1450) this includes approx. 5 – 6 hours ground school
Undertake 3 hour full motion flight simulator experience (£1300) including a 1 hour final flight exam
* This is a group of extremely experienced flight simulator enthusiasts, we assume this group have flown the PDMG 737 and know its systems well, have a good working knowledge of airline operations, be able to fly raw data SIDS and Stars and most will have experience of VATSIM or IVAO operation. This group know who they are!
Note: Flying a level D simulator is exactly the same as flying the real aircraft, it feels very very real indeed and only after completing significant training will we allow any non qualified individuals near a house size, £15 million pound machine capable of pulling G-Force. However if you are looking for the ultimate challenge then this may be it! You will not only need to complete the course, you will also need to satisfy your instructor that you are ready to operate this formidable machine. The course finishes with a pass / fail flight test where you will need to fill in the correct paperwork, prepare the simulator for operation, turn on motion, complete a flight and react to a pretend emergency befor completing a proper shutdown. At the end of this course you will join a very small group of individuals allowed to solo hire these machines without having completed a commercial pilots licence!
Undertake 15 hours of fixed base training (£2250) this includes approx. 10 hours ground school
Undertake 4 hour full motion flight simulator experience (£1700) including a 1 hour final flight exam
